Fans, Friends, Family
When I was fifteen, all I wanted to
do was play in a band. I used to read
the city paper and dream of being on
local radio and performing live. I played
three chords until my fingers bled and
than I played some more. My cold garage
housed my first band. We hardly knew what
a bridge was before we started "Bj BobbyCats
and the Velvet Vagina". Throughout high school
I played in numerous projects, it wasn't
until my early twenties that I reunited
with long time pal Larry Thomas Moore.
We started the harvest at the perfect time.
911 had just passed and the feeling of
redemption was apparent in all walks of
life. Going on our eight year together
as a band, with all of our original
members minus co-founder didgeridrew,
I think to myself; what if I could meet
with my former 15 year old self and tell
young B.O.B keep pushing man it'll
be all right. My former self would
never imagine a dedicated fan base,
2 self-owned FULL length albums,
touring Los Angeles, Yosemite,
San Francisco, Boston, Vermont,
Rhode Island, Washington DC, (etc)
being on 93.3 WMMR, 104.5FM, with
many new promising elements to come.
Though we have no major label conviction
or national tour planned. I am thankful
this year. And I wanted to share that
with you the fans, friends, family,
bookers, scouts, devils, angels and
animal lovers. Keep pushing and
never stop a dream. You'll wake up and
it will be all over.

As the Holidays approach, we've
got some promising attractions coming
your way. Our epic video for 'Sinner' produced by
Shadowbox Pictures will be released in time for
Santa to smoke a pipe to. The shoot lasted a month
and our model Rae Sin really hit it home.chat about it. We'd like to
thank the entire staff and especially Mr. Cadberry,
who is still dropping eggs for DTH. Here is a couple
photos from the final shoot.
As October comes to and end, the allure of zombies and lurking monsters is
replaced with fat stuffed turkeys. And I can't complain. Check it though, this year
was one of the best HALLOWEEN parties ever at the GENERAL LAFAYETTE INN. Thanks
to all the peeps that inspired the madness that manifested that evening. Especially, our teenage mutant ninja turtles OSO, who rocked the first set of the evening.
We've been writing allot of new music lately. We have high hopes that our 3rd LP will be released as early as spring 2008. The 3rd album will be more experimental while retaining the grassroots of early disco. Regardless, all I can say is "one hundred billion dollars is the cost to save the world.....get on it". Below, I have laid out some you tube that was recently posted. This footage was taken on July 4th at the Trocadero. All though the lighting is dim you can get the idea that we meant business that night. Chat about it.

FATMAN meets Disco: Air Dogs Vol. 3
Flightmares.
It's a rare combo of dread and despair that lasts for an entire day.
We, the downtown harvest were scheduled to
play RED DEVIL LOUNGE in
San Francisco at nine pm.
The airline was AIRTRAN and the day was Thursday. The time was
5:45 am. And the coffee was DARK ROAST wawa blend.
Airport. Tophey's mom dropped us off, we got in line and then heard it.
"Any flights to Atlanta are delayed due to broken parts"
Shit. We wait in line some more and an hour passes.
Chris, Tom and I make light of the situation and laugh it up.
We learn that after we arrive in ATL at 3pm. Our next available flight
to SFO would be nine thirty pm est. Shit.
We think about it. Call Ralph Lauren and David Hua.
Next.
We cancel AIRTRAN and use our lunch vouchers.
We find ourselves back on SOUTHWEST airlines.
Our favorite endorsed airline.
On a flight to Oakland that connects through Chicago.
Flightmare.
We wake up in California.
Hua and Frank pick us up. We reunite and spend the remaining hour in route to tonight's performance.
San Francisco is quite literally the bomb daddy.
The weather is pitch perfect and the food is outstanding.
Mr. Hua's apt. is a deluxe dream for Chris Wood as he is quoted:
"this place is the bomb daddy"
We brush our teeth and head for 1695 Polk St. the Red Devil Lounge.
Plush venue and inspired Disney themed atmosphere.
This place was a highlight for us.
Still recovering from the flightmare.
We collect our thoughts and plug into
our brand new guitar amplifiers.
Chris sets up his new drum kit.
I tell Chris everything is going back to
the store after the mini-tour.
He ponders if it can be done.
The show was great.
Thanks to Dawn King for coming out and
keeping it real with us for a few.
Jay Masselli comes back into the picture.
And my eyes get heavier and heavier.
Sleep.
New day. New objective. We heard east towards Yosemite Park.
We are playing two nights at the Iron Door Saloon.
Along the way, we notice a large palm tree being delivered
on the back of a flatbed truck. It hits me. I'm out west.
The drive took longer than expected but finally
we were back in heaven. Jay Bird's on board to do sound.
Chris Loh and his staff at the IRON DOOR
in Groveland California are stupendous.
We really appreciated the warm welcome after our 2 year absence.
During the days of disco, we would travel north from LA every month
for shows.
The band takes refuge above the bar. A quaint apartment
that formerly housed prostitutes 150 years ago. Stories of Black Bart paint the walls and we take it all in...............
(blast)
The first night ends. We go to RAINBOW POOLS.
We meet a young kid
who loves Mickey Avalon.
He jumps from high places and
we give him a DTH demo.
Below are some shots of this exquisite natural water park.
After the excursion, we return to the Door and play a memorable
set to PETER BARSOTTI, a god in Northern California, who was stage
manager at the historic WINTERLAND venue. We chat with Peter and
plan future festivals. Didgeridrew performs a set and we marvel at his
drum pad samples and mongrel ability to rock the dancefloor. We dance with Kimmy,
our favorite waitress at Groveland and
drink through the night. We play poker
and
I assume Black Bart's persona
and win 2/3 tournaments. yeah dad. great night.
Wake up. Get out of bed. drag a comb across my head......
move south after being visited by the bleach cowboy ghost,
which walks the hallways upstairs. We make a break for it at
6:30 am. We gather our thoughts. Reid takes the wheel.....
Frank and Hua tell us stories about their time together earlier in the week.
We get back to Los Angeles.
Everyone else spreads out across the city.
We spend a night off from music and travel.
On Tuesday, we play the Silverlake Lounge,
an excellent venue with a dark atmosphere.
It goes well with my tshirt, which I bought that
day for 60 bucks primarily cause the sales
clerk was smoking hot. We play a fierce set,
after we celebrate Caity's 20th birthday with
a shot of whiskey. Cheers to Fauzy, Claire and
George for keeping it real. And Nina for breathing life into the harvest.
We awake in different places. Tonight we play Hermosa Beach.
Anything south of the 10 in Los Angeles, your either
gambling, driving, or drinking. Tonight I drank.
Tequila. Guinness. Tequila. I wear hearo ear
plugs during musical events. And tonight, they
got me into trouble. Some Chico took out a
large roll of bills. I glanced and quickly looked
away. His wife looked me up and down. I tense
up. He leans in and says, " get the fuck out of
here". I agree. Moments later, here he comes
again with his wife. They reach out. I form a fist.
"Were so sorry.... We thought you ....FBI".
I took out my ear plugs and said, " i play guitar" in broken Spanish. They smile. I breathe and take a shot.
Here are some other shots......
We ended our evening full circle at bob's disco house. We
traveled back to San Fernando and threw the football, Tom climbed the building and we took some candid photos.
The trip is over.
We return home to open for Perry Farrell.
HUA returned the gear.
So it goes.......

Wed Aug 15th 2007
It's like this. We, downtown harvest,
were traveling the East Coast touring
Boston, Rhode Island, HoME, and
Washington DC.
Our first show was on [THURSDAY]
and we went on at MIDNIGHT.
Here is the series of events
according to me B.O.B aka Bobby
Bootlegger, Lucius Holiday and sometimes Switchblade.........................
Six hours from MALONGNA records
to Boston. We decided to leave
at 2pm. A reasonable amount of
time to allow ourselves to
search for the perfect sunglasses
or foreign meal. {blast}
I drive until I see a VIP
erotic store. We pull over
throw the football around,
fix Eleanor's broken rib and
enter the establishment. We
marvel at the variety and peruse
the products. They have a large
paraphernalia store attached. I buy KLEER environmentally friendly ______. We hit the road
like dogs and bark at the moon. WE ride.
WE drive for awhile and discover
the SASQUATCH that's been staring
Tom down through eye ninety five.
He is a fierce creature whom
prefers his JERKY smoked.
Taking our time and enjoying
the scenery is great. .............
It gets to be around eight pm.
The phone rings. The word from
mgmt is we go on at 10 not
midnight as previously planned
throughout this careless trek
north. We have to be there at
930 or we don't play at all.
Fuck. Were about 40 miles out.
We haul ass. We barley speak and
forget to notice the gas tank. We run out.
Chug. Chug. Chug. We roll to a
toll booth were they meticulously
call the Troops to come help us.
After some belittlement, we get
enough gas to hit the road.
We make it to the venue after getting
hopelessly lost one more time
before finding the venue. We hit
the stage. We set up in ten minutes
and in five more were playing "
Alexander Hayes". We hit the crowd hard at
Harper's Ferry , after 8 songs
we thank the audience and prepare
to watch our friends from
Kansas City "DISTANCE TO EMPTY".
These guys are great and can be
found on our top 8 via myspace.
ENTER HOCK: 1/2 Starving Artists.
We travel to Rhode Island, one
hour away to stay at his shore house.
We hit the beach. Soak sun
and witness a beach brawl.
I really dig this place.
The gig in Rhode Island is off the hook.
We play two sets and by the end, a
drunken patron whom jumped onstage
was escorted out, shots of tequila
were poured and the party went
to 7 in the morn dad.
The party is over. It's eleven in the morning.
I slept two minutes. It's time to
head to PLYMOUTH MEETING for the
General Lafayette Inn's 198 dth show.
We drive and we drive and the
following things go down dad...........
We play home. We rock it. We sleep.
We get back in the van en route to
Washington DC with our fellow road
dogs DTE. The venue is awesome as
presented to us from DELETED SCENES
local favorites. This was the last
night on the mini tour together
and we wanted to rage with some
miller light cans and poker chips.
The after party as depicted here:
We sober up.
We drive.
We return home.
The drive is over.
chat about it.

Mr. Brady: [confused] What? I'm failing to make the connection here.

Richard : [embarrased] Wow."

Cindy : Can I have some? These are good! Lucy: Cindy, could you leave some for us?

Sun Jun 10th 2007
downtown harvest in Toronto: North By NorthEast Music Festival 2007. A quick recap from the driver....
(below: Toronto's NOW magazine. Find B.O.B and BARK.)
I got up at 2:28 am and took a hot shower. I swallowed some coffee and smoked a cigarette. I was ready to go.....now approaching 4:30 am.... now we take off north to Toronto.
What up Aaron? Our 19 year old prodigy, who did extremely well with DTH his first time as a ro-ro-ro road dog. He came along for the 8 hour drive.
Driving early in the morning, we look out across lakes that are fog-ridden, which created a ghost-like apparition through the interstate highway landscape.
drink more coffee....
Around 9:30, I needed to crash so Larry took over responsibilities driving for awhile. I awoke two hours later to Eleanor, our fearless means of transportation, gasping desperately for gasoline. We barely made it to petro station before imminent disaster. However.....................................
moments back onto the road with a fresh tank of gas, we heard a strange explosion from the back of Eleanor. I looked out and saw smoke full of chalky debree......I told Larry to pull over. We popped our cherry....we had our first legitimate blow-out. chat.
Entering Canada was easy. We told the guard we were DOWNTOWN HARVEST here to play the North by Northeast Music Conference. With no avail, he let Eleanor into the Maple Leaf country, which smelled fresh due to Lake Ontario's glorious presence.
Our hotel, ironically titled the "DOWNTOWNER HOSTEL" smelled like old milk and I found a hyper-dermic needle under the bed. Yikes. However, this double bunk bedded room would hold the harvest for 48 hours. We needed to make the best of it. We look at a paper and Chris and I are on it. chat.
Got to register. Arrive at the Holiday Inn Downtown and receive our first of many traffic tickets. We drop demos and CD's everywhere absorbing the conference floor. This place is dope. Smoke a cigarette drink another coffee, eat some cookies.
Town Hall meeting 2:30pm. MUCH MUSIC headquarters in TORONTO. This is the motership station for music in Canada much like our MTV, they also housed BRAVO and other cable network programs. The town hall meeting was comprised of several key-speakers during the weekend. Mainly the concern amongst artist's was how to make money with their music in a digital world. After the meeting, we retired to our 'suite' to get some rest before the night, which included a DTH performance at Holy Joes' on Queen St. West. chat.
The set started with FULL CIRCLE. After that, all I remember is this bloke named LIAM chatting my ear off outside the club. We got along famously and found we had many things in common. He quickly joined the harvest for another drink at the visually stunning DRAKE HOTEL on QUEEN street. This club was off the hook making the STANDARD in Los Angeles look like a Holiday Inn Express. It was 5am the last time I checked..................
Sleep.
The following day was great. The seminar's were truly incentive and the evening that followed led us to discovering our new favorite band "SPIRAL BEACH". Check them out.
The drive home took us 12 hours. Eleanor is sleeping now. Sssssshhhhh. Don't wake her.

COuldnt have been better. and then monday morn, while on the chinatown bus back to philly, the reality of living in PA and not having a job punched me in the face. No bruises though. DTH has only just begun! Spring has sprung, life is in bloom, and this weather is phenomenal. The birds are out and about, and the bees are trying to have sex with them (as I am lead to believe). Great things are happening, i can feel it. Lets give thanks.
